Next Week in England
From this coming Tuesday, December 4th, until the following Monday, Karen and I will be in England for special meetings with a church there. We will be getting to know the church family and speaking in the Sunday services. Without giving all the details at this time, suffice it to say that it is all with a view to working out a partnership relationship which should benefit both our ministry and that of the church. Pray for us and for the church as we meet together.

Family Ties
Continue to pray for our children as Karen and I prepare for our move to England. They are all staying here in Canada, and though they are technically adults, they need Mom and Dad's help time to time.
Adam is a young father and husband, paying off student loans, and seeking to establish himself in life. Recently, you received news from him describing his vision for a Christian-based fair-trade coffee initiative, and some have replied and encouraged him in it.
Amy is a newlywed wife enjoying involvement in a new church home. She is a baker by profession.
Alisa is the only one who still lives with us. She commutes to McMaster University for classes there. Living arrangements for next year are yet to be worked out.
Aaron is in his first year at Sheridan College and living away from home. He is facing serious spiritual challenges requiring much prayer. At the same time, there has been substantial progress in his life partly due to being out on his own. Pray for him.
Angelie attends McMaster also and is in her first year. She is living away from home close to the university.
The last three are all working part-time to pay for extra expenses. It's not easy for them at times to make ends meet, and Mom and Dad have limited ability to help.

Glory in the Manger
This year as Christmas approaches, I find myself thinking much about all that it means that Jesus Christ came into this world. Before he was born and even before creation, Jesus basked in the great glory of God's presence (John 17:5). And after his work on earth was done, Jesus returned to that surpassing divine glory (Luke 24:26). From one standpoint we might say that while Jesus was with us, the glory was nowhere to be seen. It was veiled as Jesus walked around as a man loved by some and hated by others. In the end, this innocent man was executed unjustly as if he was a common criminal.

But on the holy night he was born, what did the angels loudly proclaim?

"Glory to God in the highest!"
The fact of the matter is that God's glory shines brightest in Jesus' coming to this earth. All that Jesus accomplished in his teaching, his life, his death, and his resurrection, show God to be our loving, forgiving, marvelous,
amazing heavenly Father.
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Merry Christmas from our house to yours!
