You are the reason we publish these updates. It is your interest in this ministry and your prayers to God for us that keep us going.
We Thank God For...
1. A Fully-functional Ankle! Every time Karen and I take the dog for a walk, we remember how that last year at this time it was "cast and crutches". Even though I will probably always be aware of the injury (scars, plate and screws along with not-quite-normal feeling in the ankle), I walk without a limp and can run as though the ankle was never broken.
2. A New Car! Recently one of our monthly donors gave us a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan to replace our transmission-dead 1994 Chev Lumina minivan. It was a sacrifice for them since there was no tax receipt possible for their generous gift. WOW!
3. Wedding Bells! Our oldest son Adam (23) will be married on August 26 to his sweetheart, Autumn Bowen. He and his wife-to-be plan to live in Toronto while Adam finishes up his degree at York University.
We Pray About...
1. George's Teaching Opportunities -- In conjunction with FFM (Fellowship of Faith for the Muslims), I will teach my second session on Islam this coming Sunday at a Chinese church in Toronto. Later in July, I will be team-teaching on Islam for 5 days with Dr. Viggo Olsen and Dr. Patrick Cate at ABWE's annual missionary training seminars.
2. Antioch Project Administrator -- ABWE's outreach and training center based in Birmingham England needs a very special person to lead the work into the future. Pray as the need is made known to new and veteran missionaries this summer at the conference mentioned above.
3. Karen's English Ministry -- Potential is great for seeing God work in the lives of Karen's students. She would like to see a church-based "conversational English class" begun in the future, but it requires committed helpers.
4. Family Matters -- Karen may have arthritis in her fingers and we are looking for ways to minimize anything that may cause inflammation. Amy will complete her chef-training by fall and be looking for apprenticeship or employment. Alisa will be off to Australia in the fall for Bible training. Aaron is looking for work and completing his final high school credit in preparation for college in 2007. Our baby Angelie is looking ahead to her final year of high school.
Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support,
George for all
