Those are real comments from 4 of the 38 new members at Al-Kitab.org who enrolled since we last sent out an email update 60 days ago in October (names have been changed). Of those 38 people, 30 are Muslims. This means that we are coming into contact with new Muslim acquaintances every other day. The total of active members and alumni at Al-Kitab.org now stands at 380, and growing by the day. Most of the people who contact us are looking to learn something about the gospel, however, we do get the odd detractor such as this recent one:
You are a very sly, cunning and conniving set of people. You are a lying cheating kuffar (infidel), who will be given his recompense one day, insha Allah (God willing)! (H.M. in UK)
But even some of those people lighten up when we answer with an attitude of appreciation for their concerns, while unflinchingly standing by the truth. Some even go on to give the gospel a hearing! As wise Solomon said, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger" (Proverbs 15:1).
Speaking of email updates, if you do not yet receive them and would like to, simply contact us and we will add you to the list.
We are all well, in answer to your prayers. My ankle is nearly as good as new. Karen's ESL activities continue to flourish. She is happy to be able to resume her TESL training with the University of Saskatchewan thanks to the support of our church here. Adam (23) has put his ongoing political science studies to good use by hitting the campaign trail as a local candidate in the upcoming federal election! Amy (21) is excited about starting chef school in the New Year. Alisa (19) works at a mall while she makes plans for future ministry training. Aaron (18) is picking up a few more high school credits in preparation for college the following year. Finally, Angelie (16) is in grade 11 and volunteering at the hospital to prepare for medical missionary service in future.
You are important to us,
George for all
