Thank You...
...for standing with us in this vital ministry. We are all doing well right now, although Karen recently had what our doctor now believes was an appendicitis attack. Out of the blue, Karen suddenly fell ill with severe abdominal pain which lasted several days before subsiding. It took many days to diagnose it, partly due to the waiting times most of us are now experiencing in Ontario hospitals and clinics. Now that the pain is gone, no action will be taken unless it comes back.
George's Mom
Many of you sent sympathy cards to my mother who was recently widowed with the passing of my stepfather, Ernie Dupuis. Mom (Doris) was very impressed by the tangible expression of care from people she has never met. Continue to pray for her. She is living alone in her apartment but has several sisters living in the same town for emotional support. We live about 3.5 hours drive away from Mom.
Liberty University Conference
Early in April, I was blessed to attend the first-ever Internet Evangelism Conference held at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. It was encouraging to meet others with a similar vision to use the internet for God's glory. About 150 participants gathered, most of whom were interested in learning how to use the internet as an evangelistic tool. There were some excellent workshops on practical matters. I believe this is just the start of greater things to come.
Mission Trips for Two Daughters
This year two of our children surprised us with their plans to go on missions trips entirely of their own initiative. Alisa (19) is heading to serve the Lord in Nicaragua. Angelie (16) will be off to New Zealand for a variety of ministry activities including working with Maori youth. Gifts for them will need to be sent to us directly rather than to our mission office, since they are not going out with ABWE. Contact us by email or phone (519-756-2475) for further details on how to help them financially.
Marital Bliss for 25 Years!
This summer, Karen and I will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and thanks to my Aerogold VISA card, we will fly to Italy for a special time together (no children). It will be our first vacation of any kind in several years, so we are really looking forward to it. Anyone who has visited Italy and would like to offer advice, please feel free to give it! We have never been before and would like to strike a balance between keeping it cheap and having a nice time!
There's much more that could be said--the website continues to receive new students. It's the same old thing, but still it's exciting to think of new people coming to understand that great old story of Jesus Christ and forgiveness of sins. Keep us in your prayers, and especially remember our last request...Mike.
Update on "Mike"
Much has happened since we last talked with you about "Mike." His application for a study permit and visa to enter Canada is in process. Hopefully we will hear soon that he is packing his bags to come. ABWE Canada has approved Mike as a special project for which we may raise funds. Donations may be sent directly to ABWE for the Kings' ministry account and designated "for MIKE." Rather than bore everyone here with the details, email us if you would like to know more about the actual needs involved. Every gift, big or small, will be much appreciated, which reminds me... Canadian law requires that we include the statement at the bottom of the page along with any appeal for funds.
We thank God for you,
George for the 7 Kings
