"Matthew, Mark, Luke, and...Nicholas?"
During the Christmas season, we followed our own advice from the
last update about including Muslim acquaintances in Christmas celebrations.
When the "Delight" family was over, we had the privilege
of explaining what Christmas is all about. We were surprised to
learn that they had no idea that Christmas was about the birth of
Jesus Christ. Rather, they thought it was a holiday honouring Santa
Claus. They already knew a little about Santa Claus since they were
from Turkey, the homeland of St. Nicholas. But they were also under
the impression that St. Nicholas was one of the disciples of Jesus,
and one of the writers of the New Testament! They were very happy
to learn that Christmas is about Jesus. They listened to the scriptural
account of the birth of Christ and gladly accepted a Gospel portion
as a gift so they could read more about the Good News of salvation.
Pray for the Turkish "Delights".
"Say it Again, Sam"
Our online Bible Correspondence School (al-kitab.org)
now has a total of 87 member/students. That's up 10 new members
just since the new year began. "Sam" is from Southeast
Asia and has completed 3 of our Bible study courses. At the end
of the last lesson he added, "My spiritual eye is now open
towards the spiritual message of Jesus the Messiah." Praise
the Lord, and pray for "Sam".
A New Door of Service
We are in the process of assuming the operations of a second evangelistic
website ministry geared for the Muslim audience. The man who started
it is heading to Africa for a different kind of missionary service
and will no longer be able to maintain it. Between our original
site and this complementary site, there is fantastic potential for
spiritual impact. We will give you more information about this in
the next update. Please pray for us as we learn the multitude of
details to this additional avenue of outreach.
Thank you for praying and giving. We value your
partnership in this ministry.
Yours in Christ,
George for we7kings
